Family, a Community of Life and Love

A family has the mission of becoming increasingly what it is in the plans of God, that is to say, a community of life and love; it therefore has the mission of protecting, revealing, and communicating, in unity and indissolubility, life and love, as reflections of their participation in God's love for mankind and Christ's love for the Church, his bride. Without authentic reciprocal love, the family cannot live, cannot grow, cannot perfect itself as a community of people: it is this love that leads to the gift of life to the children and leads to solidarity and communion with other families. All of this demands a great spirit of sacrifice; generous willingness to offer understanding, forgiveness, and reconciliation; preventing selfishness conflict, and tensions from lurking in the family community.
