Family, the First School of Catechism

To educate one's children to the great values of the Christian faith; to faith in God the Father, in Christ his Son, and in the Holy Spirit! The first school of catechism is and must be the family! From the father and the mother. from the older brothers and sisters, the little children must receive - along with examples of Christian life-the treasure of the great truths of the Divine Revelation. which they will later study in greater depth with the organic catechism in the parish churches, in the institutions, and in the movements. Most important of all, however, you parents must educate your children in prayer, introduce them to the progressive discovery of the mystery of God and to personal conversation with him. This prayer conducted within the family, which is the domestic church, constitutes for the children the natural introduction to the liturgical prayer of the entire Church. There is then a progressive participation of all the members of the Christian family in the Eucharist, especially on Sundays and holidays, and the other sacraments, in particular those of Christian initiation.
