Newlyweds, Collaborators with the Creator in the Diffusion and Education of Human Life

With marriage, beloved newlyweds, you have undertaken the implementation of a great enterprise: to merge your persons into a single flesh and give birth, out of this magnificent union, to life, the life of man. You are collaborators with the Creator in the diffusion and education of human life. Nuptial love culminates by its nature in paternal and maternal love. Your paternal being and maternal being, all the same- as you know-goes well beyond the simple physical fact, and becomes a form of spiritual generation. And that is where your educational efforts come in! You are summoned to communicate to the fruit of your union not only material goods, but also those goods of the spirit and those virtues, those ideals and moral values that constitute the most precious inheritance. For that inheritance your children will be most grateful. The inheritance of material possessions, however important, can be stolen by a thief or consumed by moths; the inheritance of a life made up of right and holy actions is a treasure that no thief can steal and no moth can consume.
