Fight the Culture of Death by Opening Your Heart to Faith

When man opens his heart to faith, he experiences the replacement of selfishness by altruism, hatred by love, revenge by forgiveness, greed by loving service, egoism and individualism by solidarity, division by concord... and violence by mercy. This happens when man opens his heart to faith. When, instead, he rejects the Gospel and its message of salvation, it begins a process of erosion of moral values, which is likely to have negative repercussions on the larger life of society. The true force capable of defeating these destructive tendencies springs from faith. This, however, demands not only an intimate personal decision, but also a courageous external testimony, which expresses itself in a firm condemnation of evil. This demands, here, in your land, a clear rejection of the culture of the Mafia, which is a culture of death, profoundly inhuman, anti-evangelical, and inimical to individual dignity and civil coexistence.
